Tom Toothaker, DPT
Rehab Supervisor
Tom Toothaker received his Bachelor of Arts in Biology from Christopher Newport University and his Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from Old Dominion University, where he served as class president.
Tom enjoys working with patients of all ages but has a particular passion for serving the aging population. He is a Certified Aging in Place Specialist (CAPS), providing home assessments and recommendations that help older adults maintain safety and independence. He uses functional dry needling, instrument assisted soft tissue mobilization, cupping, joint manipulation, and other techniques along with targeted corrective exercise to help patients restore function and improve quality of life.
A former United States Marine, Tom has a deep passion for all things related to health and lifespan. He enjoys powerlifting, Olympic lifting, rucking, and a wide variety of physical training. He strongly believes in “movement as medicine.” He is a Level 1 CrossFit Trainer and a USA Weightlifting Level 1 Certified Coach.
Tom lives in Williamsburg, Virginia with his wife, Stephanie, who is also a physical therapist. He has been an active member of the American Physical Therapy Association and the Virginia Physical Therapy Association since 2008.

Trey Cooper, PTA
Trey Cooper received his Associate of Applied Science degree as a Physical Therapist Assistant from ECPI University and has over five years of experience in outpatient rehabilitation.
Trey works with a wide range of patients including orthopedic, post-operative, and geriatric populations. He has a particular interest in treating hip and knee conditions, with a focus on helping patients return to functional movement and daily activities. His treatment approach emphasizes functional training, using targeted exercise and movement-based strategies to improve strength, mobility, and overall independence.

Trey has completed Modern Management of Older Adults Level 1 and 2 training, further supporting his ability to work effectively with the aging population and promote long-term mobility and safety.
Outside of the clinic, Trey enjoys staying active and values the role of movement in maintaining long-term health and quality of life.

Brittney Merendino, DPT
Brittney earned her Bachelor of Exercise Science Degree and Doctor of Physical Therapy Degree from Old Dominion University.
Brittney is dedicated to helping patients restore function, reduce pain, and improve overall quality of life. She utilizes treatments including functional dry needling, instrument assisted soft tissue mobilization, cupping, joint mobilizations, and targeted exercises based on an individual's needs. She has experience working with a diverse range of patients, including those recovering from injury, surgeries, chronic conditions, TMJ, and balance dysfunction.
Brittney is a certified clinical instructor, mentoring Doctor of Physical Therapy Students to achieve entry level status in the profession.
Outside of work, Brittney is passionate about health, wellness, and maintaining an active lifestyle. She continues to stay involved in the fitness community through regular participation in Crossfit and competitive sand soccer. Beyond athletics, Brittney enjoys creative pursuits including photography, gardening, painting, and spending quality time with family.
