About Shahwali Arezo, MD

Dr. Arezo received his bachelor's degree from Virginia Commonwealth University and earned his medical degree from Eastern Virginia Medical School. He completed an internal medicine internship at Eastern Virginia Graduate School of Medicine. He then completed an internal medicine residency followed by a fellowship in gastroenterology at The Medical College of Virginia.

Dr. Arezo is board-certified in internal medicine and gastroenterology. He is a member of the American Gastroenterological Association and the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy. Dr. Arezo is on the active medical staff of Riverside Doctors' Hospital Williamsburg, Riverside Walter Reed Hospital, Riverside Doctors' Surgery Center Williamsburg, and Sentara Williamsburg Regional Medical Center.

Dr. Arezo's special medical interests include the diagnosis and treatment of conditions related to the digestive system, including the esophagus, stomach, colon, liver, gallbladder and pancreas. He routinely performs colonoscopies, endoscopies, and other advanced diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
