About Nicholas Matthew Drake, MD
Nicholas Drake, M.D., is a fellowship-trained hematologist and oncologist, triple board certified in medical oncology, hematology and internal medicine. He specializes in blood cancer, breast cancer, geriatric oncology and clotting disorders. Dr. Drake works closely with patients and their families, guiding them throughout diagnosis and treatment. He approaches health care with a deep respect for the diversity of cultures and experiences that shape each patient’s journey.
Dr. Drake earned his medical degree from Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond and completed his internal medicine residency and hematology-oncology fellowship at Virginia Commonwealth University Health System. His research interests include rehabilitation in blood cancers, cancer screening, cancer-related emergencies and continuity of care.
Growing up in a small town in western New York, Dr. Drake appreciates the strong community in coastal Virginia. He enjoys spending time with his family, friends and dogs when he’s not at work. Dr. Drake also likes traveling, woodworking and sailboat racing.
