About Matthew John Tompkins, MD

Matthew J. Tompkins, M.D., is a board-certified urogynecologist specializing in female pelvic medicine and reconstructive surgery. 

Dr. Tompkins earned his medical degree from The Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio. He completed an obstetrics and gynecology residency at the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, where he served as chief resident. Before his medical training, Dr. Tompkins earned a Bachelor of Arts in zoology from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. He is board certified in urogynecology and reconstructive pelvic surgery by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology.   

Dr. Tompkins is passionate about helping women with pelvic floor disorders. His philosophy is to listen carefully and work with patients toward a personalized plan of care that helps them improve their quality of life.  

A native of Cleveland, Ohio, Dr. Tompkins looks forward to exploring our area’s bike trails and beaches. When he’s not at work, he enjoys spending time with his family, cheering on his favorite football teams, swimming, skiing and playing basketball.
