About Matthew Brian LaRoe, MD
Matthew B. LaRoe, M.D., is a fellowship-trained endocrinologist specializing in metabolic disorders including diabetes, thyroid disorders, pituitary disease, adrenal disorders, obesity and bone disease.
Dr. LaRoe received a Bachelor of Arts in psychology from the University of Virginia in Charlottesville. He earned a Master of Biomedical Science from Marshall University in Huntington, West Virginia. He then earned his medical degree and completed an internal medicine residency at Marshall University Joan C. Edwards School of Medicine. He completed a fellowship in endocrinology, diabetes and metabolism at the Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University in Greenville, North Carolina.
As a Type 1 diabetic using an insulin pump, Dr. LaRoe has always had a passion for endocrinology. He takes a patient-first approach and relates easily to his patients. He focuses on clear communication, personalized care and treating every patient with kindness.
In his free time, Dr. LaRoe enjoys golf, tennis and spending time with Bear, his English Labrador retriever. He enjoys living in Williamsburg, where he can explore the community and serve his neighbors.
