About Leonid Borisovich Reshko, MD

Dr. Reshko is a dedicated radiation oncologist committed to providing compassionate, patient-centered care. He values a multidisciplinary approach to treatment, collaborating closely with other specialists to deliver the highest quality care tailored to each patient's unique needs. Dr. Reshko takes the time to answer questions, ensuring that patients and their families feel informed and supported throughout their treatment journey. His primary focus is on improving patient outcomes and enhancing quality of life.

Dr. Reshko serves as the Radiation Oncology Course Director for the Transitional Year program for rotating medical students. His commitment to innovation, process improvement and collaboration has led to numerous improvements in patient care.  Dr. Reshko practices full time in Williamsburg, Virginia and was integral in establishing Riverside Health’s Radiosurgery Center’s second location in Williamsburg, Virginia in collaboration with UVA Health.  He is the principal investigator in a financial toxicity prospective research study and has authored multiple research papers in nationally recognized journals.

Dr. Reshko graduated summa cum laude with honors from Virginia Commonwealth University before earning his medical degree at Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine, where he was recognized with the Junior Alpha Omega Alpha Award for ranking in the top 8% of his class. He completed his internship at Riverside Regional Medical Center, where he was awarded the Top Resident Research Award in 2018. His radiation oncology residency was completed at the University of Louisville School of Medicine, where he served as Chief Resident and actively contributed to multiple research projects. For his contributions to the field, he was honored with the Red Journal Outstanding Reviewer Award.

Originally from Saint Petersburg, Russia, Dr. Reshko is married with two children. Having previously trained at Riverside Regional Medical Center, he returned to the area for its strong sense of community and proximity to family. Outside of medicine, he enjoys traveling, fitness, and tending to his koi pond.
