About Kerry Ellen McGuire, AGPCNP

Kerry earned a nursing diploma from the St. Francis Hospital School of Nursing, a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Central Connecticut State University and a Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Connecticut. A licensed advanced practice registered nurse, she is board-certified as an adult nurse practitioner by the American Nurses Credentialing Center.

Early in her nursing education, Kerry identified cardiology as a specialty in which she could combine the art and science of nursing care with corresponding medical care. By developing active partnerships with cardiac patients and their families, she has facilitated improved self-care and positive outcomes throughout her many years of experience.

Kerry’s areas of special interest include structural heart disease, women’s heart health and congestive heart failure. She believes in caring for her patients as she would want her own family members to be cared for.

In 2019, after living in Connecticut for her entire life, Kerry relocated to Virginia, where she loves the temperate climate, local theatre and music venues and access to the ocean and mountains. She and her husband have two sons and two cats. Outside of work, Kerry enjoys hiking, biking, travel, reading and theatre.
