About Kenneth James Meehan, PA

After earning a Bachelor of Science from the George Washington University in 1998, Kenneth earned a Master of Physician Assistant Sciences from the University of Nebraska in 1999. He completed a physician assistant fellowship in orthopedics at Naval Medical Center Portsmouth in 2009. Kenneth is board-certified as a physician assistant by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants.

Kenneth has extensive experience caring for orthopedic surgery patients in the operating room, clinic setting and even the combat field. Prior to joining Riverside, he cared for our nation’s heroes as the lead orthopedic PA at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center and served as clinical orthopedic consultant for the White House.

With a particular focus on hand surgery, Kenneth provides a full spectrum of state-of-the-art care for all conditions of the elbow, wrist and hand — such as carpal tunnel syndrome, ligament injuries, arthritis, Dupuytren’s contracture and trigger finger. He enjoys the opportunity to significantly improve the quality of life for his patients. Recognizing that each person is unique, Kenneth focuses on identifying individual needs in order to achieve the best outcome.

Originally from Boston, Kenneth retired from the U.S. Navy in 2020 after 38 years of service and numerous awards, including the Purple Heart. He is a published photographer who enjoys the people, culture and mild winters in Hampton Roads. Kenneth and his wife, Cheryl, have two adult children.
