About Kayla Elizabeth Leach-Frasca, DO

Dr. Leach-Frasca is a board-certified family medicine physician specializing in acute and chronic diseases, preventive care and OMT/Osteopathic manipulative treatment. She is certified in family medicine by the American Board of Osteopathic Family Physicians.

After earning a Bachelor of Science in biology from Concord University in Athens, West Virginia, and a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine in Lewisburg, Dr. Leach-Frasca completed a residency in family medicine at Augusta University Medical Center in Georgia. After her residency, she stayed on as an assistant professor in the residency program for three years, serving as the osteopathic associate program director. Dr. Leach-Frasca then completed a certification as a medical simulation instructor.

From a young age, medicine was Dr. Leach-Frasca’s career goal. During medical school, she fell in love with each rotation. She feels that as a family physician, she has opportunities to see a diverse patient population spanning all ages, encounter various acute and chronic diseases and emphasize preventive care from birth to advanced age. She especially likes to work with children and adolescents.

Developing relationships with her patients is important to Dr. Leach-Frasca. Since she treats all ages, she appreciates the opportunity to walk alongside her patients long-term and learn about their families, interests and motivations. With that knowledge, she feels she is better able to make recommendations jointly to meet shared health goals.

Dr. Leach-Frasca grew up in White Sulphur Springs, West Virginia. During childhood, her family vacationed in Williamsburg every year and she continued the tradition with her husband. Dr. Leach-Frasca and her husband have one son and consider Yorktown their forever home. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family, especially on evening walks and other outdoor activities, as well as drawing and painting.
