About Kathryn Elise Felts, FNP

Kathryn “Katy” E. Felts is a board-certified family nurse practitioner specializing in gastroenterology. She completed her bachelor’s in nursing at Old Dominion University (ODU) and earned a Master of Nursing, family nurse practitioner from Carson-Newman University. Katy is board certified by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners.

Appreciating gastroenterology for the variety of diseases and conditions to treat within the specialty, Katy works closely with her patients to address their symptoms and relieve their concerns. She keeps in mind that there is not a one-size-fits-all plan to providing the best care and believes her role as a patient advocate is important. Katy strives to educate her patients regarding their individual conditions, enabling them to make the best choices for their health care and building an atmosphere of trust to achieve positive outcomes.

Katy is married with three daughters. In her free time, she likes exploring the mountains with her family, reading and watching her children participate in a variety of activities. Having grown up in rural Virginia, Katy fell in love with Hampton Roads while attending ODU and she loves the ease of access the area has to the ocean, mountains, rivers, shopping, entertainment and history.
