About Jamie Marie Firth, FNP

Jamie Firth, FNP, is a family nurse practitioner with particular interests in chronic joint conditions, including rheumatoid arthritis (RA), gout, joint pain and osteoarthritis. Jamie has over 15 years of experience working with patients to improve their quality of life and address the root cause of their illness.  

Jamie earned her Master of Science in nursing degree with a Family Nurse Practitioner concentration at Chamberlain University in Chicago, Illinois. She is board certified as a family nurse practitioner by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP). Having been with Riverside in several roles for 25 years, her experience includes emergency medicine, IV therapy, critical care and oncology. 

As a nurse practitioner, Jamie believes there is more to health care than prescribing medications and running tests. She approaches care holistically, using traditional medicine and promoting small lifestyle changes in nutrition, stress maintenance and rest that can have a big impact on the overall health and well-being of her patients. Jamie’s experiences as a patient influences her attention to detail and compassion when caring for people with chronic diseases. 

Jamie is an avid animal lover, regularly supporting the Virginia Living Museum, and she enjoys cooking at home with fresh ingredients, practicing the same lifestyle habits she recommends for her patients. She also loves the arts and history, enjoying documentaries, theatre and music.
