About Dennis Steven Pearson, FNP

Mr. Pearson is a Family Nurse Practitioner who is certified by both the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners and the American Nurses Credentialing Center. He earned his Associate in Applied Science in Nursing from Thomas Nelson Community in 2010. He earned a Bachelor in Nursing (2012) and a Master in Nursing, Family Nurse Practitioner (2013) from Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Virginia. His varied healthcare experience includes hospital staff positions in cardiology/telemetry, medical-surgical, and neonatal intensive care.

Prior to joining Riverside he was a pediatric primary care provider with Pediatrics of Oyster Point in Newport News, Virginia. Mr. Pearson is a retired Air Force Lieutenant Colonel who served his country in a wide range of duties that included staff and command positions in Arkansas, Ohio, Washington D.C., Delaware, Germany, and Hungary as well as deployed tours of duty in Afghanistan, Iraq, Saudi Arabia, and Qatar. He is a member of Sigma Theta Tau, the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners, the American Academy of Pediatrics and the Assembly of Men in Nursing. He has been awarded the Bronze Star, five Air Force Meritorious Service Medals, and the Joint Service Commendation Medal. Steven's focus is on collaborative, quality, patient-centered care with special interests that include the diagnosis and treatment of a wide variety of gastrointestinal illness and digestive conditions.
