About Christopher Jonathan Cole, DO

Dr. Cole is a board-certified obstetrician and gynecologist with special interests in high-risk obstetrics and minimally invasive gynecologic surgery. After earning a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine, he completed his residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Womack Army Medical Center. While serving in the U.S. Army at Fort Drum’s Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Dr. Cole spent some time as the interim department chief and served as head of obstetric emergency simulation training at Samaritan Medical Center. He is board certified by the American Osteopathic Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology.

Dr. Cole chose his specialty because it offers an excellent mix of surgery and medicine. He enjoys working in a fast-paced environment where quick decision making is key and feels that women’s health is conducive to this skill set. Dr. Cole believes strongly in shared physician-patient decision making throughout a woman’s life and strives to treat his patients the way he would want his wife, mother and daughters to be treated.

After growing up in a small town in Pennsylvania, Dr. Cole appreciates the slightly warmer climate Hampton Roads offers, the ability to experience all four seasons and our proximity to the water. In his free time, he can be found spending time with his wife, their three daughters and the family’s border collie.
