Pharmacy Residency

Candidate Requirements

Doctor of Pharmacy degree or candidate for graduation from a college or school of pharmacy accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE).

If a foreign graduate of pharmacy, has completed all requirements for equivalency as outlined by the National Association of Board of Pharmacy including Foreign Pharmacy Graduate Examination Committee (FPGEC®) Certification

Must be eligible for licensure as pharmacist in the State of Virginia. Virginia licensure is required within 60 days of hire.

How to Apply

  1. Log in the PhORCAS. Application submission deadline is January 2nd each year, using the online centralized application provided by the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP) at www.ashp.org/PHORCAS
  2. Send Transcripts and CV. Submit a copy of your professional transcripts, letter of intent, curriculum vitae and 3 letters of recommendation through PhORCAS.
  3. On-Site Interviews. On-site interviews are offered to a limited number of applicants based on review of the completed application. Selected candidates will interview with the residency team, future mentors and preceptors as well as have an opportunity to tour our beautiful facilities. Residents will be placed via a two-phase national match system, supervised by the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists.
