"Don't look any further," Warwick Forest couple says.
The decision to retire at Warwick Forest was an easy one for Tom and Marie Harris*. As long-time residents in Newport News, they were familiar with the community and knowledgeable about Continuing Care Retirement Communities. They knew it was a good fit for them.
Mr. and Mrs. Harris moved into their two-bedroom Warwick Forest apartment in April of 2011. So far, they are thrilled with both their housing choice and all that the community has to offer. "We like the spaciousness of the dwelling," says Mrs. Harris. "And, everybody is nice, kind, polite and helpful. When I mentioned this to the activities director, she said, 'That's what we do here at Warwick Forest; we help each other.'"
The couple is constantly on the go. When we asked Mrs. Harris what amenities and activities they take advantage of, she chuckled and said "all of them." In fact, Mrs. Harris' daughter has a tough time reaching her because she's always out. "One day recently, I left in the morning to exercise. Then I had a nice lunch, a meeting in the afternoon, then dinner and then another meeting with our travel group. I didn't get home until 9:30 that night. That's a typical day for me."
Her advice to prospective retirees: "Come to Warwick Forest and don't look any further!"
