Julie Scott, MS, CCC
Julie Scott graduated from Old Dominion University in 2000 with a Master's Degree in Speech Language Pathology. Julie joined the Riverside team in 2000 and has experience in all levels of care including inpatient rehabilitation, home health and outpatient therapy. Julie specializes in Neuro Recovery post stroke and brain injury, with a passion for working with high level cognitive deficits and assisting with functional return to gainful employment. In addition, Julie is certified in VitalStim, FEES privileged, and LSVT Certified to improve communication in individuals with Parkinson's Disease. Julie is the Speech Therapist serving on the ALS Clinic Team, working alongside multiple disciplines to provide comprehensive care to people with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis. Julie combines her traditional therapeutic interventions with her training in myofascial release to maximize outcomes for her patients.
Heather Blair, PT
Heather Blair graduated from the University of MD at Baltimore in 1989. She has worked within the Riverside Health System for over 20 years with experience in all levels of care, including acute care, inpatient rehabilitation and outpatient therapy. Heather specializes in Pelvic Floor Therapy, Vestibular Rehabilitation for balance, Neuro Rehabilitation for post stroke and brain injury patients, utilization of Bioness L300, and Aquatic Therapy. Heather's passion for quality patient care, coupled with her passion for her profession, result in functional and meaningful outcomes for her clients.
Jessica Sheffield, MS, OTR/L
Jessica graduated with her Master's in Occupational Therapy from Eastern Kentucky University in Richmond, KY. Jessica has been working for Riverside since 2013. She enjoys working with the neurological population (Stroke, Traumatic Brain Injury, Parkinson's Disease). Jessica is LSVT BIG certified and provides therapy to those with Parkinson's Disease to improve their balance, walking and ability to perform activities of daily living. She also specializes in Neuro Rehabilitation for post stroke and brain injury using the Bioness H200, Dynavision, and BITS to address visual-motor processing impairments. Jessica is the Occupational Therapist serving on the ALS Clinic Team, working alongside multiple disciplines to provide comprehensive care to people with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis. Jessica enjoys spending time with her husband, her two dogs, and her cat. She loves being outdoors: hiking, cycling, kayaking, and walking the dogs. Jessica is fluent in American Sign Language and enjoys being able to communicate with others.
Brittany Santos, PT
Brittany graduated from The Riverside College of Health Careers, Physical Therapist Assistant program and joined the Riverside team in January of 2017. Brittany enjoys working with the neurological population, facilitating recovery following stroke or brain injury. She brings a unique challenge to each of her patients, pushing them to achieve their personal and functional goals. Brittany specializes in neuromuscular re-education and aquatic therapy. Brittany was raised in Virginia and enjoys the diversity of the region. She stays active and enjoys reading, embroidery, playing the ukulele and piano and attending concerts.
