Fat Grafting

Fat grafting, also called fat transfer, plumps up facial or body features by using the patient's own fat. Fat transfer is designed to decrease the appearance of wrinkles and fill in parts of the face or body. It can also reduce scarring and correct deformities. Since fat transfer uses your own fat cells, there is no risk of the body rejecting the tissue. In addition, fat grafting procedures are near-permanent in most cases.

What can Fat Grafting do for me?
Fat grafting can help to plump thin lips, lift sagging cheeks, improve tear troughs (hollows under the eyes), or add volume to other parts of the face that have wrinkles.

Who is a good candidate for Fat Grafting?

  • Fat Grafting may be an option for people with:
  • Facial scars, such as from acne.
  • Decreased facial volume due to diseases such as hemifacial atrophy.
  • Sunken cheeks and wrinkles due to aging.
  • Small, depressed areas in sections of the body-such as around the breasts.

What can I expect during Fat Grafting?
Fat transfer is an outpatient procedure. Using a small needle, fat is removed from one area of the body. Once removed, the fat is processed to remove excess fluids and then re-injected under the skin using another needle. Both the area from which the fat is taken and the treatment site are anesthetized with a local anesthetic.

What is the Consultation Fee?
Because of the significant amount of time and resources we will reserve for your appointment, we require a $60 fee for new cosmetic consultations. This initial consultation fee will be applied toward your procedure if you choose to move forward.
