Paul B. McLendon, MD
Orthopedic Surgery, Orthopedics - Shoulder and Upper Extremity
Dr. McLendon earned his medical degree from the Florida State University College of Medicine. He completed five years of residency training in orthopedic surgery at Mayo Clinic, as well as a shoulder and elbow fellowship at Florida Orthopaedic Institute. Dr. McLendon is board certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery.
After Dr. McLendon’s own shoulder injury in college led to years of disability, a successful surgery finally resulted in his recovery—and inspired him to become a shoulder and elbow specialist. A strong desire to help others overcome similar problems continues to fuel him today. Knowing that some conditions are not amenable to surgery, he believes all patients deserve the time to understand their problem and treatment options.
Committed to serving each patient with the best care possible, Dr. McLendon specializes in total shoulder replacement, reverse shoulder replacement, shoulder arthroscopy, shoulder labral repair, rotator cuff repair, patch augmentation of the rotator cuff, superior capsular reconstruction, shoulder tendon transfers and elbow disorders.
Born and raised in Florida, Dr. McLendon enjoys Hampton Roads for its strong sense of history, beautiful outdoor attractions, and warm, welcoming people. His favorite hobbies include weight lifting, distance running, swimming and playing guitar. Dr. McLendon and his wife have two young boys.
