Raouf S. Gharbo, D.O.
Dr. Gharbo completed his specialty residency training in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at a top program at The Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio. He earned his medical degree at the Ohio University College of Osteopathic Medicine in Athens, Ohio which promotes a holistic approach to practicing medicine. Dr. Gharbo is board-certified by the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.

As a specialist in physiatry and neurorehabilitation, Dr. Gharbo focuses on maximizing mobility and function after neurologic and orthopedic injuries. He promotes a more mindful approach to chronic pain that requires a partnership utilizing recent electrophysiologic advancements. He enjoys speaking to health providers, staff, risk managers and leaders about how to understand the physiology of psychology to improve health, decision making, performance and culture. This approach has earned him recognition as a regional Top Doc for several years.
As a proud Egyptian and American, Dr. Gharbo has served extensively with Physicians for Peace as part of the Medical Operations Committee and as a leader of medical missions. He was a walk-on to The Ohio State University wrestling team and earned All-American status and the school top Scholar-Athlete award. He continues to enjoy supporting Ohio State wrestling, as well as Christopher Newport University basketball by teaching the physiology of fear.
