Adel A. Aziz, M.D.
Dr. Aziz received his medical degree from Tripoli University in Libya. He completed an internal medicine residency at St. Joseph's Hospital and Medical Center in Paterson, New Jersey, as well as a neurology residency at University Hospitals Case Medical Center in Cleveland, Ohio. Dr. Aziz was fellowship trained in behavioral neurology at Mayo Clinic in Florida and is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine and the American Board of Neurology.
A highly trained behavioral neurologist, professor, researcher and consultant with 15 years of experience, Dr. Aziz possesses special expertise in various types of dementia, such as Alzheimer's disease, Lewy body dementia and frontotemporal dementia, as well as movement disorders and higher order gait disorders. Believing that a wise physician not only has an ability to educate patients, but to learn from them as well, he extends a listening ear and an open mind in order to provide his patients with the care they deserve.
Originally from Tripoli, Libya, Dr. Aziz appreciates the hospitality of the people in Virginia's Tidewater area, along with access to the beach. Married with three children, his favorite activities include biking, walking, swimming and traveling.
