Riverside Regional Medical Center is pleased to announce national accreditation as the Peninsula's first and only Chest Pain Center.

Accreditation was awarded by the Society of Chest Pain Centers (SCPC) in January 2012 after a rigorous evaluation of Riverside's ability to assess, diagnose, and treat patients who may be experiencing a heart attack.

What an accreditation as a Chest Pain Center means for you
You have chest pain. Is it a heart attack or simply heart burn? Coming to Riverside Emergency and Trauma Center can save your life or give you peace of mind.
Being an accredited Chest Paint Center means that when you come to our emergency room you can expect the following:
  • Reduced time from onset of your symptoms to diagnosis and treatment of chest pain. This can be lifesaving for heart attack patients.
  • Faster treatment during the critical window of time when the integrity of the heart muscle can be preserved.
  • When it is not certain that you are having a heart attack, we'll continue to monitor you to ensure that you are not sent home too quickly or needlessly admitted to the hospital - giving you peace of mind.

"Becoming an accredited Chest Pain Center is a testament that we offer the best in all-inclusive care of cardiac patients from pre admission to post admissions." says Gary Kavit MD, Medical Director.
