Code Silver – Active Shooter Drill
Gloucester, Va. – Riverside Walter Reed Hospital will be conducting a Code Silver, Simulated-Active Shooter Emergency Preparedness Exercise on Friday, June 28, 2019 between 9 a.m. and 12 p.m. This will be a campus-wide exercise.
Riverside is committed to team member, visitor, and patient safety. As part of that commitment, it is important to periodically exercise the ability to respond to various incidents that could occur on the campus.
As with past drills and preparedness exercises, Riverside is partnering with EMS, Gloucester County Law Enforcement and Emergency Management, CERT volunteers and more to conduct this exercise.
Exercise activity will not interfere with patient care. Signage will be placed at all entrances and information sheets will be handed out to patients and visitors. Exercise staff will be assisting with ensuring that actual patients and visitors do not enter the exercise area.
