For more than 100 years Riverside has been committed to the communities we serve. In 2019, we celebrate more than 40 years of serving the Middle Peninsula with the completed $55 million expansion and renovation of the Riverside Walter Reed Campus.
When complete, we will have an expanded 18-bed Emergency Department with a Family Care Room dedicated to the comfort and well-being of family members during what may be one of the most difficult times in their lives. This renovation expands our emergency department from 6,300 square feet to more than 16,000 square feet including three new state-of-the-art treatment rooms and a trauma room.
Part of the construction involves relocating the main entrance of the hospital to Gloucester's Main Street and Medical Drive, where the current Medical Arts Building entrance is located. Renovations include a new lobby, registration and waiting area, gift shop and much more.
Adjacent to the north side of the Medical Arts Building, we are constructing a new two–story building that will house all Surgical Services including three new state-of-the-art operating suites, preoperative and postoperative recovery areas along with 36 private patient rooms located on the second floor.
