For many people, balance and stability may decline with age. The result is an increased risk of falls that can lead to moderate or even severe injury. That's why the Riverside Wellness & Fitness Center is offering Building Balance, a specialized healthy aging program for adults with a history of stability issues or concerns about falling.
Taught by an exercise specialist and approved by Riverside Health System physicians and therapists, Building Balance is an eight-week program designed to progressively improve muscular stability and confidence through activities of daily living. Translation: an exercise course to help prevent falls and help you gain better balance in life.

Classes meet once a week for eight weeks.
- Tuesdays, starting February 13 at 9 a.m.
Class sequences move from the floor to standing.
Adults throughout Hampton Roads- including Newport News, Hampton, Williamsburg, Gloucester, Poquoson, James City and York Counties– interested in improving their muscle strength to prevent falls as they age.
