The Orchard Voted “Best Assisted Living / Retirement Facility” and Riverside Tappahannock Family Practice’s Anshul Gupta, M.D. Voted “Best Doctor”
Tappahannock, Va. – Adding to a growing list of accolades, Riverside Health System facilities and physicians have earned 2018 Readers' Choice Awards from Northern Neck News, whose readers voted The Orchard “Best Assisted Living / Retirement Facility” and Riverside Tappahannock Family Practice’s Anshul Gupta M.D. “Best Doctor.”
For more than 15 years, the Northern Neck News Readers' Choice Awards have acknowledged the very best businesses, organizations and professionals across the area. This year, votes were cast across nearly 90 award categories.
“It’s an honor to receive recognition like this, as it comes directly from our valued patients, friends and family members in the community,” said Esther Desimini, Riverside Vice President and Administrator of the Riverside Tappahannock Hospital and surrounding Northern Neck community.
“These latest awards for our people and places on the Northern Neck reflect our commitment to excellence, quality and the Riverside Care Difference of caring for patients as we would our own loved ones,” added Desimini, who previously worked as an Oncology Clinician for more than 30 years prior to joining Riverside.
The awards are just the latest Readers' Choice Awards bestowed upon Riverside locally. In 2017, Warsaw Medical Arts was voted "Best Doctor's Office" in the Northern Neck News Readers' Choice poll, while Riverside Tappahannock Hospital was recognized by the readers of Virginia Living Magazine with a "Best of Virginia” award.
The Orchard, a Riverside Healthy Living Community on the Northern Neck has earned numerous other awards and professional accolades recently.
In February, The American College of Health Care Administrators honored The Orchard administrator Pam Doshier with the Eli Pick Facility Leadership Award, which recognizes administrators who have led their organizations to a high level of quality and places The Orchard among the top 11 percent of skilled nursing facilities in the country.
Earlier, The Orchard earned a pair of national honors that recognized the community as among the very best in Virginia and the nation. The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) have recognized The Orchard as a 5-Star Nursing Facility, while the American Health Care Association and the National Center for Assisted Living honored The Orchard’s approach to long-term care with a 2017 Silver Award – one of just six awarded to Virginia long-term care facilities and 191 facilities nationwide.
Most recently, Riverside Tappahannock Home Health joined other Riverside home health agencies that made the 2017 HomeCare Elite list – a compilation of the most successful home care providers in the country. It was the eighth time Riverside Tappahannock Home Health made the prestigious list, placing it in the top 25 percent of agencies in the U.S. based on key performance measures.
And Riverside Tappahannock Hospice recently beat the national average in all eight family caregiver results in the CAHPS Hospice Survey from Hospice Compare, which measures metrics related to quality of care and patient experience.
