Charles R. Kersh, MD

Dr. Kersh earned his medical degree at the Medical College of Virginia School of Medicine, where he also completed residency training. He is board-certified by the American Board of Radiology and is a fellow of the American College of Radiology.
Performing Gamma Knife radiosurgery since 1989, Dr. Kersh has been using this innovative procedure far longer than most physicians in the United States and has treated over 4,000 patients. Dr. Kersh specializes in stereotactic body radiosurgery using a robotic stereotactic linear accelerator to treat tumors of the lung, spine, adrenal gland, pelvis and lymph nodes. Dr. Kersh has lectured on radiosurgery throughout the world and currently holds a faculty position at the University of Virginia and has continued his clinical research since joining Riverside.
Dr. Kersh adheres to the philosophy that “our program focuses on treating the whole person— body, mind and spirit.” A native Virginian, he enjoys fishing, golf and traveling to the Outer Banks with his family.
