Scott Kaufman, DO

After earning his medical degree from the University of Health Sciences College of Osteopathic Medicine, Dr. Kaufman completed residency training in internal medicine at the University of Medicine and Dentistry’s School of Osteopathic Medicine in 1991. He completed a cardiology fellowship at the Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine in 1994 and an electrophysiology and pacing fellowship at the Illinois Masonic Medical Center in 1995. Dr. Kaufman is board-certified by the National Board of Osteopathic Medical Examiners in internal medicine, cardiology and cardiac electrophysiology.

Dr. Kaufman has nearly 25 years of experience in cardiac electrophysiology, which assesses and treats problems with the heart’s electrical activity and rhythm. His expertise in this focused specialty includes ablation therapy, device implants and leadless pacemakers. He has also conducted extensive clinical research in his field. Dr. Kaufman’s philosophy is to treat the patient rather than the condition, while doing no harm in the process.

Originally from Pennsylvania, Dr. Kaufman lived in Indiana for many years before moving to Virginia. He is an avid boater who enjoys the climate and the water in Hampton Roads. He and his wife, Dana, have two children and three dogs.
