Jeanette M. Sessoms, FNP

After 14 years as a Registered Nurse, Dr. Sessoms earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Old Dominion University in 2008 and a Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Cincinnati in 2010. She earned a Doctor of Nursing Practice from the University of Virginia in 2015. Dr. Sessoms is board-certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner by the American Nurses Credentialing Center.

A Nurse Practitioner with 25 total years of experience in nursing, Dr. Sessoms has attained the highest level of practice as a DNP. She is able to provide expert care across the age spectrum, from the young adult to the elderly, with special interests in hypertension treatment, knee and shoulder injections.

A therapeutic provider-patient relationship is key to Dr. Sessoms’ medical philosophy. She believes her job is to know her patients’ medical history and conditions and to devise an individualized, holistic plan of care through shared decision-making with each patient. She is committed to providing quality, up-to-date care through that partnership.

Born and raised on Virginia’s Eastern Shore, Dr. Sessoms is still fond of the culture and quaintness of the area. She is a wife, mother and grandmother who enjoys spending time with her grandchildren, along with being a role model for them. She also enjoys swimming and worshiping God.
