Dr. McAleer-Leavey received her medical degree from the Creighton University School of Medicine in Omaha, Nebraska and completed a family practice residency at St. Joseph's Hospital and Medical Center in Phoenix, Arizona. She is board-certified by the American Board of Family Medicine.
With 20 years of experience as a family medicine physician, Dr. McAleer-Leavey enjoys developing long-term relationships with patients of all ages. She approaches each relationship as a partnership in which her role is to listen, present options, and help her patient choose the best plan of care.
Dr. McAleer-Leavey has lived all over the country, from New Jersey to California, Nebraska, Arizona and Vermont. Her favorite aspect of living in the Hampton Roads area of Virginia is being close to the ocean. Dr. McAleer-Leavey is the mother of three young adult children.
