Laura E. McAleer-Leavey, MD
Dr. McAleer-Leavey received her medical degree from the Creighton University School of Medicine in Omaha, Nebraska and completed a family practice residency at St. Joseph's Hospital and Medical Center in Phoenix, Arizona. She is board-certified by the American Board of Family Medicine.
With 20 years of experience as a family medicine physician, Dr. McAleer-Leavey enjoys developing long-term relationships with patients of all ages. She approaches each relationship as a partnership in which her role is to listen, present options, and help her patient choose the best plan of care.
Dr. McAleer-Leavey has lived all over the country, from New Jersey to California, Nebraska, Arizona and Vermont. Her favorite aspect of living in the Hampton Roads area of Virginia is being close to the ocean. Dr. McAleer-Leavey is the mother of three young adult children.
Mary K. Valentine, NP
After receiving her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Virginia Commonwealth University, Mary earned her Master of Science in Nursing from Walden University. She is board-certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners Certification Board.
Mary’s background includes 13 years of nursing experience with Riverside hospitals, where she served in emergency, medical-surgical and intensive care settings. As a Nurse Practitioner with a passion for preventive care and healthy lifestyle practices, she enjoys the opportunity to work with people of all ages. Mary makes it a priority to take time to listen to her patients, continually striving to foster a comfortable and trusting environment.
A true local, Mary grew up in Newport News, where she is happy to serve her community today. She and her husband have three children.
