Lisa A. Casanova, MD
Dr. Casanova earned her medical degree from Brown University Medical School and completed residency training in obstetrics and gynecology at Northwestern University School of Medicine. Dr. Casanova is board-certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology. Additionally, she is a Certified Menopause Clinician by the North American Menopause Society.
In practice for over 25 years, Dr. Casanova enjoys the variety of her work as an obstetrician and gynecologist. She finds joy in delivering babies and caring for women throughout their lives. Dr. Casanova anticipates that the future of OB/GYN care will include an increase in minimally invasive surgery as well as genetically individualized medical treatment.
Originally from New England, Dr. Casanova enjoys living near the water and the mountains. She is the mother of three children (and a dog), and her free time is often spent biking or running.
Monilla M. Dent, MD
After earning her medical degree from the Northeast Ohio Medical University, Dr. Dent completed an OB/GYN residency at Michigan State University. She is board-certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
Dr. Dent’s areas of specialty include laparoscopic and vaginal hysterectomy, endometrial ablation, and insertion of long-acting reversible contraception. Additionally, she has an interest in treating women experiencing sexual dysfunction. Patients with a wide range of conditions and concerns find Dr. Dent to be a caring, capable professional with their best health and wellbeing in mind.
With a medical philosophy centered on patient education and a teamwork approach, Dr. Dent sees her relationship with each patient as a partnership, working together to make good health choices.
Originally from Flint, Michigan, Dr. Dent now enjoys life in Hampton Roads, especially the weather, proximity to the beach and – of course – the people. Her hobbies include reading, traveling, movies and live theater.
Charlie M. Faulk, MD
After earning his medical degree from the Medical College of Virginia, Dr. Faulk completed his residency training at Hurley Medical Center in Flint, Michigan. He is board certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
Dr. Faulk’s gynecology and surgery practice is characterized by his passion for women’s health and his lifelong commitment to service. With a daily emphasis on providing excellent care to his patients, extending support to family members whenever possible, he is sensitive to the many factors that influence quality of care.
A Certified Menopause Practitioner, Dr. Faulk specializes in menopause disorders, as well as uterine fibroids, pelvic pain, pelvic floor disorders, and urinary incontinence.
A native of Suffolk, Dr. Faulk enjoys the Tidewater area’s four-season weather and proximity to the ocean. He is an active church member, participating in choir, Sunday school and drama ministries. Dr. Faulk and his wife have four children.
Barry L. Gross, MD
After earning his medical degree from the University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Medicine, Dr. Gross completed an OB/GYN residency at Riverside Hospital. He is board-certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology and is a Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists.
Delivering babies in medical school was such a meaningful experience for Dr. Gross that he has spent four decades since then caring for women as an obstetrician and gynecologist. Considering his role a privilege, Dr. Gross prioritizes listening attentively to his patients, treating them well and always doing the right thing on their behalf.
Originally from Alabama, Dr. Gross has spent most of his life in Hampton Roads, where he enjoys the people and the water. Married with four children and eight grandchildren, his personal interests include basketball, music lyrics and gardening.
Jeffrey L. Henke, MD
Dr. Henke graduated from University of Kansas School of Medicine in Kansas City and completed his residency training at the University of Virginia in Charlottesville. He is board-certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology. Dr. Henke is helping lead the way in cutting edge laparoscopic surgery.
Diane A. Maddela, DO
Dr. Maddela earned her medical degree from Pikeville College School of Osteopathic Medicine in Kentucky, and then completed an OB/GYN residency at Grandview-Southview Hospital/Kettering Medical Center in Dayton, Ohio. She is board-certified by the American Osteopathic Board of Obstetrics & Gynecology.
Dr. Maddela specializes in the treatment and evaluation of women with abnormal uterine bleeding, infertility, perimenopausal and postmenopausal symptoms. She offers treatment options of minimally invasive gynecologic procedures, insertion and removal of long acting reversible contraception, uterine ablation, female sterilization, and hysterectomy. Her attentive expertise covers a comprehensive spectrum of care for women of all ages.
With her osteopathic training, Dr. Maddela is a firm believer in treating the woman and not the symptom. She believes in advising patients of the various treatment options and helping them decide which option is best — based on their individual needs.
Dr. Maddela is a member of the American Osteopathic Association, American College of Osteopathic Obstetrics and Gynecology, American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
Natalie M. Bradshaw-Smith, NP
Natalie earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and a Master of Science in Nursing from Old Dominion University. She is board-certified as a Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner by the National Certification Corporation.
Women’s health has always been Natalie’s passion. Desiring to provide compassionate, evidence-based and holistic gynecologic and obstetric care, she places importance on being kind and keeping up with new medical developments. Patients find Natalie funny and straightforward, as she strives to listen to their concerns and answer questions honestly. Her specialties include Nexplanon and IUD insertion and removal, birth control counseling, low-risk obstetrics and STI testing and treatment.
A Virginia Beach native, Natalie still loves the beaches of Hampton Roads. She and her son, Mackey, also frequently visit our area’s museums, parks and attractions. Natalie enjoys traveling, reading, running, her three rescue animals and all things pink.
Alyssa N. Craig, CNM
After earning a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Virginia, Alyssa earned a Master of Science in Nurse-Midwifery from George Washington University. She is board-certified as a Certified Nurse Midwife by the American Midwifery Certification Board.
Alyssa pursued nurse-midwifery to empower women throughout the lifespan and provide them with holistic, individualized health care. In particular, she supports physiologic birth, believing that pregnancy and birth are natural processes. Her philosophy is that health outcomes are best when providers and patients work together as a team. Alyssa’s special interests include natural childbirth, breastfeeding support, vaginal birth after cesarean, and prevention of primary cesarean deliveries.
