Lisa A. Casanova, MD
Dr. Casanova earned her medical degree from Brown University Medical School in Providence, Rhode Island. She completed residency training in obstetrics and gynecology at Northwestern University School of Medicine in Chicago. Dr. Casanova is board-certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology. Additionally, she is a Certified Menopause Clinician by the North American Menopause Society.
In practice for more than 25 years, Dr. Casanova enjoys the variety of her work as an obstetrician and gynecologist. She equally loves the joy of delivering babies and caring for women throughout their lives. Dr. Casanova anticipates that the future of OB/GYN care will include an increase in minimally invasive surgery as well as genetically individualized medical treatment.
Monilla M. Dent, MD
After earning her medical degree from the Northeast Ohio University College of Medicine, Dr. Dent completed an OB/GYN residency at Michigan State University. She is board-certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
Dr. Dent chose her medical specialty with a goal to help women with health issues throughout their lives, giving her the opportunity to develop lasting relationships with her patients. She enjoys the variety each day brings, from helping women achieve pregnancy to providing prenatal and delivery care to treating health issues that arise after having a family. With a medical philosophy centered on patient education and a teamwork approach, Dr. Dent sees her relationship with each patient as a partnership in which they work together to make good health choices. Dedicated to treating patients as family, she feels it is important to spend time getting to know each woman in her practice.
Dr. Dent’s areas of specialty include laparoscopic and vaginal hysterectomy, endometrial ablation, and insertion of long-acting reversible contraception. Additionally, she has an interest in treating women experiencing sexual dysfunction. Patients with a wide range of conditions and concerns find Dr. Dent to be a caring, capable professional with their best health and wellbeing in mind.
Charlie M. Faulk, MD
After earning his medical degree from the Medical College of Virginia, Dr. Faulk completed his residency training at Hurley Medical Center in Flint, Michigan. He is board certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
Dr. Faulk's gynecology and surgery practice is characterized by his passion for women's health and his lifelong commitment to service. With a daily emphasis on providing excellent care to his patients, extending support to family members whenever possible, he is sensitive to the many factors that influence quality of care.
A Certified Menopause Practitioner, Dr. Faulk promotes healthy aging in women, helping them find relief when they encounter menopause symptoms. He supports the use of low-dose vaginal estrogen products as well as standard estrogen replacement therapies, and will guide patients based on their individual risk factors. Patients who want to pursue alternatives to hormone replacement therapy will also find guidance and support in Dr. Faulk.
Barry L. Gross, MD
After earning his medical degree from the University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Medicine, Dr. Gross completed residency training in obstetrics and gynecology at Riverside Hospital (now Riverside Regional Medical Center) in Newport News. He is board-certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology and is a Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists.
Delivering babies and sharing that experience with families was the most meaningful experience Dr. Gross had in medical school. Since then, he has spent four decades caring for women as an obstetrician and gynecologist. Considering his role to be a privilege, Dr. Gross feels it is most important to listen attentively to his patients, treat them well and always do the right thing on their behalf.
In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Gross serves on the boards of Riverside Health System and Eastern Virginia Medical School, and as medical director for Virginia Health Network. He served 16 years as executive vice president and chief medical officer for Riverside Health System.
Jeffrey L. Henke, MD
Dr. Henke graduated from University of Kansas School of Medicine in Kansas City and completed his residency training at the University of Virginia in Charlottesville. He is board-certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology. Dr. Henke is helping lead the way in cutting edge laparoscopic surgery.
Diane A. Maddela, DO
Dr. Maddela earned her medical degree from Pikeville College School of Osteopathic Medicine in Kentucky, and then completed an OB/GYN residency at Grandview-Southview Hospital/Kettering Medical Center in Dayton, Ohio. She is board-certified by the American Osteopathic Board of Obstetrics & Gynecology.
An amazement at the various stages of a woman’s life led Dr. Maddela’s to practice obstetrics and gynecology. She considers it a privilege to help women through those stages, finding her work fascinating, enjoyable and rewarding.
Dr. Maddela’s philosophy is to evaluate each patient individually, as a completely unique person. She practices a holistic approach on the premise that a patient’s health is a reflection of her lifestyle, environment, genetics, medical history and spirituality.
With specialties in infertility and endocrine disorders, Dr. Maddela’s attentive expertise covers a comprehensive spectrum of care for women of all ages.
Natalie M. Bradshaw-Smith, NP
Natalie earned both a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and a Master of Science in Nursing from Old Dominion University. She is board-certified as a Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner by the National Certification Corporation.
Women’s health has always been Natalie’s passion and clear mission. With a desire to provide compassionate, evidence-based and holistic gynecologic and obstetric care, she places importance on keeping up with new treatment and procedure developments. Patients find Natalie funny and straightforward, as she always strives to answer questions honestly.
Natalie approaches each patient with kindness and a listening ear. Her areas of specialty include Nexplanon and IUD insertion and removal, birth control counseling, low-risk obstetric care and STI testing and treatment. She believes the future of obstetrics and gynecology will include more long-acting birth control options and decreased birth interventions.
Elise French, NP
A board-certified Women's Health Nurse Practitioner, Elise earned her Bachelor of Science in nursing from the University of South Florida and her Master of Science in nursing from Virginia Commonwealth University.
With an appreciation for the wide scope and diversity of women's health, Elise is passionate about delivering a continuum of care to women from adolescence to childbearing years and into advanced years. She views her practice as a partnership with the patient, as well as with the physicians she collaborates with. Her goal is to offer her patients a well-rounded approach and open access to care.
Elise specializes in prenatal management with a particular interest in mental health and pregnancy. She also offers expertise in family planning, from contraception to conception, in addition to well-woman care to support overall wellbeing and health.
Jocelyn Edens, Mid-Wife
Jocelyn received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Hartwick College in Oneonta, New York before earning her Master of Science in Nursing/Nurse-Midwifery from Frontier Nursing University. She is board-certified as a Certified Nurse Midwife by the American Midwifery Certification Board.
Desiring to empower women and families during pregnancy, labor, delivery and postpartum, Jocelyn's goal is to provide care options that allow her patients to make informed decisions, leading them to feel respected and safe. She believes that pregnancy is a normal part of a woman's life—not a disease.
