Medical, Surgical, Telemetry
The Medical-Surgical Unit at Riverside Doctors' Hospital Williamsburg provides assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation of acute and chronically ill patients, surgical patients, and cardiac patients. The Medical-Surgical Unit is capable of transitioning patients to and from the Intensive Care Unit, receiving post-operative patients for recovery and care, and providing around the clock care for acutely ill patients admitted from the Emergency Department.
The Medical-Surgical Unit boasts the latest patient care technology from continuous bedside monitoring, 24-hour central station cardiac telemetry monitoring, and electronic charting. Other services such as respiratory therapy, dietary and rehab/physical therapy work in concert with med/surg to provide the best possible care and recovery.
Intensive Care Unit (ICU)
From the moment you walk through the doors of the ICU at Riverside Doctors' Hospital Williamsburg you will sense that this ICU is different from most. Our state of the art unit has been designed with comfort for both the patient and family, and includes:
- Oversized rooms with large flat screen televisions
- Floor to ceiling windows in every room to allow natural light
- Large private bathrooms in every room
- Computers in every room for the nurse to administer medications and complete charting
- Open visiting hours
- Pull out sofas so a loved one can spend the night
