Giving back to the community, one patient at a time.

Nursing in the ICU, often means treating patients at their most critical time. Mira Shata, has been nursing in this setting her entire 20-year career and has been with Doctors’ Hospital since it opened in 2013.

“I love the community and love that I would be taking care of the people in my community,” Shata said.

She also loves nursing in the ICU, especially at Doctors’ Hospital.

“It’s very fulfilling because you feel part of the team and know you’re affecting patient outcomes. Team members are very respectful of opinions. We feel like family with each other.”

And while she fond of her teammates, it’s the patients that Shata truly has a soft spot for. “I make them laugh. I take really good care of them.”
