Being part of a team that works together to make patients better.
Joie Stickley, CNA, has been in a variety of clinical settings since she began her health care career seven years ago. But spending this past year on the medical/surgical floor at Doctors' Hospital has been the most rewarding.
“It’s a great atmosphere. Everyone is friendly and this team is awesome. We really work hard together. The CNAs help the nurses, the nurses help the CNAs. It makes you feel good going to work every day,” Stickley said.
In addition to a great working environment, Stickley loves developing relationships with patients while they heal.
“I love interacting with people and learning their stories,” Stickley said. “Some people don’t have family to talk to, so I like to be that lending ear,” she added.
For her, it’s rewarding when patients can walk out healthy and happy and she knows that she played a part in that.
