Hill Valley Healthcare Affiliate to Acquire Three Riverside Lifelong Health Facilities
The acquisition – which will include The Orchard in Warsaw, Riverside Convalescent Center in West Point and Riverside Rehabilitation Center in Hampton – is expected to take effect on Jan. 1, 2021, but no later than March 1, 2021.

Riverside Therapists Complete Special Training to Help Parkinson’s Patients
Riverside is pleased to announce that Gloria Thomas, MS, CCC/SLP and Spencer Sewell, PT are among the health system’s newest therapists to complete LSVT (Lee Silverman Voice Treatments) Global training and earn certifications in LSVT BIG and LSVT LOUD therapies, serving residents in the Tappahannock and Northern Neck region.

The Orchard to Host Free Lecture, "Living with Parkinson's Disease" on October 9
We are pleased to have Jonathan Butler, M.D., Ph.D., with Riverside Medical Group present Living with Parkinson’s Disease. Parkinson's disease is a movement disorder that is prevalent among people over the age of 60. It is one of the most common age-related degenerating diseases in the elderly, similar to Alzheimer's.

U.S. Congressman Rob Wittman recently paid a visit to The Orchard, discussing potential Medicare changes and other health care-related issues with residents and staff of the Riverside healthy living community for older adults. Wittman represents Virginia’s First Congressional District in the House of Representatives, which includes the Northern Neck region where The Orchard is located.

The Orchard Recognized Among Nation's Best. Eli Pick Leadership Award Reflects the Dedication and Leadership of Many.
The American College of Health Care Administrators recently honored The Orchard administrator, Pam Doshier, with the Eli Pick Facility Leadership Award. The award is based upon criteria ranging from facility census to state survey results. It recognizes administrators who have led their organizations to a high level of quality. The award places The Orchard among the top 11 percent of skilled nursing facilities in the country.

Resident of The Orchard Healthy Living Community Celebrates Being 105 Years Young at Heart
Rosella Tolley has seen a lot change in her 105 years. Born in January of 1913, her arrival predated World War I and women having the right to vote, and the average life expectancy for a woman was 51.1 years. Earlier this week, Tolley gathered with family, friends and neighbors at The Orchard to celebrate with cake and balloons.
