Behavioral Health

Pet visitation at Riverside Behavioral Health Center has been a huge success. Molly (white fur) and Kay (brown fur) have brought joy to patients and residents who are depressed, feeling isolated and hopeless. Dogs are nonjudgmental so it makes it easier to help people open up and relax.

Research even demonstrates that petting a dog can help to lower blood pressure and heart rate. For many people, having the dog respond in a positive manner helps them feel better. Molly and Kay visit our units every other week and get a warm welcome each and every time.
