Are you caring for someone with dementia? We may be able to help!
FAMILIES brings the nationally recognized evidence-based protocol of the New York University Caregiver Intervention to Virginia to support those caring for a loved one with dementia.
There are counselor fees associated with this program. Please inquire for more details. This program offers participants:
- Six counseling sessions, including two individual and four family sessions.
- A six-month follow-up session.
- The opportunity to address the challenges of caregiving.
- Educational materials and coping mechanisms for an overall better experience for both caregivers and their care recipients with dementia.
Riverside Center for Excellence in Aging is pleased to partner with University of Virginia School of Medicine, New York University School of Medicine and the Virginia Department of Aging and Rehabilitation Services to bring the FAMILIES program to residents of the Greater Williamsburg area; Middle Peninsula, Northern Neck; Peninsula; and Southside, with options available for various counseling locations.
