Thank you for your interest in the 12th Annual Stroke Symposium – Innovations in Stroke Care which will be held virtually on Friday, June 4, 2021. This conference is geared to physicians, nurses, EMS, therapists and other health care providers interested in the care of patients with stroke and associated diseases.


Symposium Objectives

  • Review the identification and treatment of stroke including advanced imaging
  • Discuss the role of telemedicine in streamlining stroke care and processes
  • Discuss how COVID-19 has changed the landscape for stroke care
  • Review the standard of care for various types of strokes
  • Review the importance of streamlining stroke care starting in the Emergency Department
  • Discuss new and emerging innovations in stroke technology
  • Discuss identification of posterior circulation strokes
  • Understand quality improvement initiatives in stroke care
  • Understand EMS involvement in acute stroke care including tele stroke
  • Discuss treatment of Cryptogenic Stroke
  • Discuss new devices available for endovascular aneurysm treatment
  • Recognize that sleep apnea is a risk factor for stroke and its management and the role a dentist can play in reducing risk
  • Discuss management and rehabilitation of the stroke patient during the subacute phase of care
  • Discuss the management of post stroke spasticity
