In-Person Expectant Parent Tours

Riverside is proud to offer in-person Expectant Parent Tours one Tuesday evening and one Saturday morning each month. During the tour, parents-to-be can preview the birthing suites and postpartum rooms in our Women and Infant Care Unit at Riverside Regional Medical Center. On the tour, you will have the opportunity to have your questions answered regarding having your baby at Riverside.
 
Attendance is limited to the expectant mother and 1 additional person, therefore ONLY the expectant mother needs to register for this tour. Registration will close once we have reached capacity.
 
Registration is required. Click the yellow "Register Now" button to the right to register for the tour. Please be sure to provide your email address. As the tour appointment approaches, you will receive an email with instructions for the tour.  
 
In-person tours are given on one Tuesday evening at 6:00 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. and on one Saturday morning at 11:30 a.m. each month.

Family Infant CPR Class

It's unlikely the need for performing CPR would arise, but if it did you would want to know exactly what to do. This class will share how to recognize the need for CPR and basic CPR will be presented. No certification will be provided.

Classes will be held on one Saturday each month from 1:00 – 2:30 pm. Your instructor will meet you in the Tower Entrance Lobby and escort you to the classroom.

Classes are held at Riverside Regional Medical Center, Newport News, VA in the WICU Classroom on the 2nd floor of the Tower Entrance.

Registration is required. To register, click on the yellow REGISTER NOW button to the right and complete the form. Be sure to include your email address so that information can be shared with you relating to the class.

Our June topic will be Low Iron: Quick fix or Major Problem
Presented by Narayanan Sadagopan, M.D., Board-certified Hematology and Oncology Physician 

Having a low iron level is a common medical issue that can have various implications, some of which are straightforward while others are more complex. In this informative session, Dr. Narayanan Sadagopan M.D., a hematology and oncology specialist, will discuss what every adult should know about iron deficiency. Dr. Sadagopan will discuss the symptoms of iron deficiency, the causes, treatment, who is at higher risk, and when to see a specialist. He will also clarify how it relates to cancer screening. Attendees will gain an understanding of the multidisciplinary team involved in the management of this condition.
