Revved Up for Wellness - Free Cancer Screening Event

Join us for our FREE Cancer Screening Event at Riverside Cancer Care Center!
 
Take a proactive step toward your health at Riverside Health's Free Cancer Screening Event on Saturday, October 10, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Riverside Cancer Care Center in Newport News. This community event offers free cancer screenings, health resources, and preventive care services designed to help individuals better understand and manage their health.
 
Attendees will have access to:
  • Prostate Cancer Screenings including a blood draw and digital rectal exam
  • Breast Cancer Screenings through clinical breast assessments
  • Cervical Cancer Screenings with PAP smears
  • Free Flu Shots (while supplies last)
  • Health education and resources on nutrition, healthy eating, mental health and wellness, cancer prevention, and chronic disease management
  • Assistance with mammogram scheduling, including information on support programs for those who are uninsured or unable to afford a mammogram

In-Person Understanding Birth Class - Saturday's

This class allows moms-to-be and their partner or support person to explore the many choices available to make their birth experience personal and positive. The course includes comprehensive information on pregnancy, labor and birth, as well as relaxation and breathing techniques.

This class is being offered the 3rd Thursday of each month from 6:00 – 9:00 p.m. and one Saturday morning a month from 9:30 am – 12:30 pm.
 
Registration is required.  Attendance is limited to the expectant mother and 1 additional person, therefore ONLY the expectant mother needs to register. Registration will close once the class has reached capacity.
 
To register click the yellow 'Register Now' button to the right and complete the form. Please be sure to provide your email address. Once the form is completed, click the yellow 'NEXT' button to submit your registration.  
 
As the class date approaches, you will receive a reminder email with additional information about the class.
 
Your instructor will meet you in the Tower Lobby of Riverside Regional Medical Center to take you to the classroom.

In-Person Expectant Parents Tours - Saturday

Riverside is proud to offer in-person Expectant Parent Tours to help parents prepare for the arrival of their little one.
 
During the tour, parents-to-be can preview the birthing suites and postpartum rooms in our Women and Infant Care Unit at Riverside Regional Medical Center. On the tour, you will have the opportunity to have your questions answered regarding having your baby at Riverside.
 
Attendance is limited to the expectant mother and 1 additional person, therefore ONLY the expectant mother needs to register for this tour. Registration will close for a tour once we have reached capacity.
