In-Person Expectant Parents Hospital Tour

Riverside is proud to offer in-person Expectant Parent Hospital Tours two Tuesday evenings and one Saturday morning each month. During the tour, parents-to-be can preview the birthing suites and postpartum rooms in our Women and Infant Care Unit at Riverside Regional Medical Center. On the tour, you will have the opportunity to have your questions answered regarding having your baby at Riverside.

Attendance is limited to the expectant mother and 1 additional person, therefore ONLY the expectant mother needs to register for this tour. Registration will close once we have reached capacity.

Virtual Childbirth Preparation Classes

Riverside is proud to offer virtual Childbirth Preparation Classes. Mom-to-be and her partner or support person can explore the many choices available to make their birth experience personal and positive.

This course includes comprehensive information on pregnancy, labor, and birth, as well as relaxation and breathing techniques, all from the safety of your home.

As the date for the new session approaches, you will receive an email with instructions on how to join virtually. This class is a series of four sessions offered on consecutive Monday evenings for two hours from 7:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.

The October series dates are 10/5, 10/12, 10/19 and 10/26.

Revved Up for Wellness - Free Cancer Screening Event

Join us for our FREE Cancer Screening Event at Riverside Cancer Care Center!

Take a proactive step toward your health at Riverside Health's Free Cancer Screening Event on Saturday, October 10, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Riverside Cancer Care Center in Newport News. This community event offers free cancer screenings, health resources, and preventive care services designed to help individuals better understand and manage their health.

Attendees will have access to:

Prostate Cancer Screenings including a blood draw and digital rectal exam
Breast Cancer Screenings through clinical breast assessments
Cervical Cancer Screenings with PAP smears
Free Flu Shots (while supplies last)
Health education and resources on nutrition, healthy eating, mental health and wellness, cancer prevention, and chronic disease management
Assistance with mammogram scheduling, including information on support programs for those who are uninsured or unable to afford a mammogram
