About Rebecca Sue Patel, FNP

Family Nurse Practitioner Rebecca Patel joined Riverside’s neurology practice with experience in both RN and NP capacities, most recently at Riverside Family Medicine at the Brentwood Medical Center. She is board certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center.

Rebecca earned both her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in nursing from the University of Toledo in Ohio and has cared for patients in many communities across the U.S. and the world — from a hospital in Aiea, Hawaii, to the U.S. Army health center in Vicenza, Italy.  She chose to become a family nurse practitioner for the privilege of treating patients throughout life’s stages and was drawn to neurology for the opportunity to work in a rapidly-growing field with new discoveries and treatment options.

With each patient in her care, Rebecca strives to listen to their concerns, keep their best interest at heart and “treat the person — not the diagnosis.” She is passionate about helping patients understand their health conditions and improve their quality of life and invites them to be active participants in their care.

Originally from Michigan, Rebecca moved to Virginia in 2018 and has enjoyed Williamsburg’s family-friendly atmosphere and green space. She is married with two children, and outside of work, she enjoys nature, hiking, yoga, cooking and traveling.
