About Narayana Swamy, MD


After earning a Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery from JSS Medical College in Mysore, India, Dr. Swamy received a post-graduate diploma in internal medicine from the Royal College of Physicians in the United Kingdom. He completed an internal medicine residency at Creighton University Medical Center in Omaha, Nebraska, as well as a rheumatology fellowship at the University of Virginia. Dr. Swamy is board-certified in internal medicine and rheumatology by the American Board of Internal Medicine.

Dr. Swamy embraces the complex decision-making necessary for practicing rheumatology, a rapidly evolving specialty requiring a medley of knowledge, judgment and discernment. By utilizing his significant clinical experience and learning new approaches, his goal is to make a difference in people's lives.

An expert in the diagnosis and treatment of a broad spectrum of rheumatic diseases, Dr. Swamy's specialties include rheumatoid arthritis, connective tissue diseases (systemic lupus erythematosus, scleroderma, polymyositis/dermatomyositis, polymyalgia rheumatica), vasculitis, spondyloarthropathies, crystal-induced arthropathies (gout, CPPD) and osteoarthritis.

Dr. Swamy is a compassionate physician who enjoys interacting with his patients and their families, aiming to provide emotional support as well as disease education and treatment options.
