About Mohamad Jamal Halawi, MD
Dr. Halawi is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon specializing in hip and knee replacement surgery. He is an expert in minimally invasive and rapid recovery techniques, partial and muscle-sparing knee replacements, artificial intelligence and robotic-assisted surgeries, complex and revision joint replacements, and the surgical treatment of geriatric hip fractures.
Dr. Halawi earned a Bachelor of Science in biochemical and biophysical sciences from the University of Houston. He completed medical school and orthopaedic surgery residency at Duke University, followed by an Adult Reconstructive Surgery Fellowship at the Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland.
Before joining Riverside Health, Dr. Halawi served as an Associate Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery and Chief Quality Officer for musculoskeletal services at Baylor College of Medicine. A widely published clinician-scientist, he has authored over 100 peer-reviewed articles and book chapters.
