Dr. Matthew D. Reed is a Board Certified, fellowship trained retinal surgeon. He specializes in the medical and surgical management of potentially blinding conditions of the retina and vitreous, and offers the latest techniques in the treatment of macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy and retinal detachment.

Dr. Reed completed his residency training in Ophthalmology at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey and received his fellowship training in retina at the prestigious University of Wisconsin.

Dr. Reed is just the very best retinal specialist in the world as far as I'm concerned. He did all he could to avoid surgery, but in the end it was necessary. He went into great detail explaining the risks of the surgery, the surgery itself, what to expect in recovery, and long term prognosis. Then he performed the surgery...it was quick and painless and most importantly, successful. I went to him, blind in one eye, and currently I see very well with both eyes. You can understand why I call him "the magician!" I just can't say enough good things about this personable, friendly, talented healer!

Dr. Reed is the best. He is caring, shows concern, and is honest. He has always told me what happens if you don't take care of yourself and what happens when you do. He can give both outcomes. A lot of doctors in my experience are too quick will only stay in the room 10-15mins and talk real fast and don't give you time to process or ask questions. Dr. Reed is the complete opposite, and he seems to genuinely care.
