About Linwood Thomas Joyner II, MD


Dr. Joyner earned his medical degree from Eastern Virginia Medical School in 2017 and remained at EVMS to complete his residency with Portsmouth Family Medicine in 2020. He is board certified by the American Board of Family Medicine.

Fond of working with patients of all ages, Dr. Joyner enjoys the opportunity to touch the lives of multiple family members across generational lines as a family medicine physician. His patient-centered, patient-driven approach focuses on establishing a therapeutic alliance with his patients to foster collaboration and partnership.

Dr. Joyner provides a full spectrum of family medical care, with special interests in adolescent medicine, knee and shoulder injections, trigger point injections and skin tag removal. His goal is to be a blessing to every individual he encounters in his practice.

Dr. Joyner grew up in Portsmouth, but his father’s family is originally from Northampton County on the Eastern Shore. He enjoys the genuine hospitality and humility exhibited by those who live on the Shore. Outside of work, Dr. Joyner’s favorite hobbies include singing and dancing.
