About John W Boyd, MD

Dr. Boyd earned his medical degree from East Carolina University. He completed an internship at the University of South Carolina and an internal medicine residency at Eastern Virginia Graduate School of Medicine. He then completed both a gastroenterology and a pancreato-biliary fellowship at the Medical College of Virginia.

Dr. Boyd is board-certified in internal medicine and gastroenterology and a fellow of the American College of Physicians. He is a member of the American Gastroenterology Association and the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy. Dr. Boyd is on the active medical staff of Riverside Regional Medical Center and Sentara Careplex and has been selected as a "Top Doc" by Hampton Roads Magazine.

Dr. Boyd's special medical interests include the diagnosis and treatment of conditions related to the digestive system, including the esophagus, stomach, colon, liver, gallbladder and pancreas. He routinely performs colonoscopies, endoscopies and other advanced diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
