Jessica is a board-certified family nurse practitioner with more than a decade of clinical experience. As a self-professed life-long learner, Jessica originally started her education at Virginia Tech, where she graduated with a bachelor’s degree in biology. After graduation, she continued her education while working at Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge and earned a master's degree in kinesiology. Jessica always had hopes of working in health care and decided to pursue a career in nursing, ultimately graduating from Duke University in Durham, North Carolina, in 2011. She completed her master's in nursing at McNeese State University in Lake Charles, Louisiana.

She has practiced in a wide range of settings and disciplines. Before joining Riverside, Jessica specialized in diabetes management and helped patients manage their health as a home health nurse. She also has RN experience in telemetry, rehabilitation, wound care and as a charge nurse at an Army community hospital’s medical-surgical unit.

Jessica is also an accomplished athlete. One of the most decorated female swimmers in Virginia Tech's history, she was named Freshman of the Year and the ACC's Swimmer of the Year during her junior and senior years. She competed in the 2004 and 2008 U.S. Olympic Trials, reaching the semifinals in both competitions, and was a 2008 NCAA Woman of the Year Finalist. In 2019, she was inducted into the Virginia Tech Sports Hall of Fame.

Because Jessica's own family has been affected by cancer, she empathizes with her patients and their families. She adheres to a patient-first philosophy and educates patients to take an active role in their health.

Originally from Raleigh, North Carolina, Jessica is married with four children. Outside of work, she enjoys running, swimming, working out, spending time with her kids and watching them play sports.
