About Jennifer Nicole Bowman, MD

Jennifer N. Bowman, M.D., an internal medicine physician, specializes in Type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure, obesity, menopause and hormone replacement therapy (HRT). She provides care to adult patients through well checks, cancer screenings and ongoing support throughout their lives.   

Dr. Bowman earned a Bachelor of Arts in biology from Carson-Newman University in Jefferson City, Tennessee. She completed her medical degree at James H. Quillen College of Medicine in Johnson City, Tennessee. Her internship and residency in internal medicine took place at Naval Medical Center Portsmouth in Virginia. Dr. Bowman is board certified in internal medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine.     

By building trusting relationships and providing evaluation, treatment and follow-up care, Dr. Bowman helps patients navigate their medical concerns. She takes pride in being a good listener, genuinely caring about her patients and supporting them in health care decision-making.   

As a former active-duty Navy physician, she appreciates the military presence in our area. Outside of work, Dr. Bowman enjoys spending time with her husband, practicing meditation and crocheting. She also has a creative interest in designing charcuterie boards for movie nights.
