About Javier Amadeo, MD

Dr. Amadeo is a board-certified neurosurgeon on the Virginia Peninsula who specializes in brain and spine surgery.  Much of his practice is focused on minimally invasive spine surgery, brain tumors and working with the precisely-controlled radiation of Gamma Knife radiosurgery. Dr. Amadeo also holds a special interest in microsurgical treatment of vascular lesions of the brain, such as aneurysms. His philosophy is to always consider what he would want for himself or a loved one when determining a treatment plan for his patients.

Dr. Amadeo completed his undergraduate work at Yale University and earned his medical degree at the University of Puerto Rico. He completed his surgical internship and neurosurgical training at the University of Puerto Rico. He is board certified by the American Board of Neurological Surgery. Dr. Amadeo is a member of the Congress of Neurological Surgeons, the North American Spine Society and the Puerto Rico College of Physicians and Surgeons.

Originally from Puerto Rico, Dr. Amadeo enjoys living near the coast in Virginia. He enjoys swimming, time with his wife and three children and being involved in his church.
